Love Where I Live

This year we reimagined our summer programme into Love Where I Live, a youth-led service project. Our young people helped design this programme, raised the funds and spent the week as volunteers doing hands-on service, including gardening, community clean-ups, home support projects, and running events for children and families. We are incredibly proud of them and It is a pleasure to know the kind of young people that give up their summer to help others!

Over the course of the week, our team of 25 volunteers completed 10 different gardening projects serving members of the community, partnering with 3 local community projects and 3 churches. Together we ran 5 days of summer schemes for 11-14 year olds and had over 50 people at our celebration BBQ! We want to thank all those who supported us and helped make the week happen, with a special mention to Mark who made the whole team pancakes on his morning off and Josh who spoke at our YI Hope night! It was a fantastic week and we are looking forward to expanding this programme over the next few years!
